Lies Lyrics
The Black Keys
Send “Lies” Ringtone to your cell
You said the moon was ours, yeah
You said the moon was ours, to hell with the day
The sunlight is always gonna take love away
Brings up suspicions and, and alibi
But I can see blue, tear-blinded eyes
Lies, lies, lies, ohh lies
I got a stone where my heart should be
I got a stone where my heart should be
And nothing I do will make you love me
I’d leave this time, break all my ties
Be no more use for any disguise
Lies, lies, lies, ohh lies
I wanna die without pain, yeah
I wanna die, oh, without pain
All this deception, I just can’t maintain
The sun, moon, stars in the sky
It’d hurt me too bad if you said goodbye
Lies, lies, lies, ohh lies

“Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” is by far one of my favorite movies of all time! I kid you not, that I can literally follow along and quote most of the movie in its’ entirety (something I’m very proud of, thank you very much)!
Nevertheless, my purpose for this post is to highlight one scene in particular that as of late, seemingly portrays my current situation.Â
Let Me Share:
The video clip that I have posted happens to be the Leap of Faith scene. Here, Indy arrives at the Canyon of the Crescent Moon to find the Holy Grail and eventually finds himself at the canyon’s edge unable to cross a deep chasm. Indy is faced with a huge predicament, but knows that he must reach the other side to obtain the water from the Holy Grail to save his dying father. Indy refers to his father’s notebook which illustrates an ancient man confidently walking across the divide. At this point, Indy becomes aware that he must take a “leap of faith” (and this is where it gets beautiful)! You see Indiana initially in panic and disbelief, but he soon closes his eyes, takes a few deep breaths and gradually succombs to peace as he dramatically, but quietly takes his first step (“leap”) of faith off the canyon’s ledge. Relieved, Indy realizes that his faith “worked” and that his feet are firmly planted on the bridge and he is now able to get across to the other side!
Needless to say, (without going into detail) I am at a point right now in my life where “I” am Indy and I am faced with conquering my fear of taking that leap of FAITH!
Each day I encounter what seems impossible, but only through faith and with God at the forefront am I assured that ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! (Matthew 19:26). With Him, I can take that leap and firmly plant my feet! Colossions 2:7 says, “Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” (NLT). There are dozens of scriptures that always speak to my heart and it is nothing more than His truth and divine Word that are required to get me through.
So yes, figuratively speaking, “I” am Indy (hat, whip, leather jacket and all)Â but equipped with MY Father in Heaven’s Notebook for reference, encouragement and strength to lead me to that “first step” towards that LEAP..OF..FAITH!
Pslam 18:2 “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold!”
Let the Church say Amen! (#chuchdat)
Always at the Barre~

“You can spend minutes, hours, days, weeks, or even months over-analyzing a situation, trying to put the pieces together, justifying what could’ve, would’ve happened… Or you could just leave the pieces on the floor and move the fuck on.”

It’s always “6’O-clock” somewhere!
Stunning photograph portraying the beauty and lines of a dancer’s body. In my mind, this is me! In reality, not so much. Nevertheless, there’s always that desire, admiration and respect for the craft, the dancer and the arts!
